Shooting case: Puri Jagannadh in surprise meet with Vikram Goud
Police is also verifying if Vikram used to take any kind of narcotic.
Hyderabad: As police teams are still digging for the reason behind the shooting at Vikram Goud’s house, the visit of film director Puri Jagannadh — who was recently grilled by excise enforcement SIT in connection with the drug racket case — to Apollo Hospital to meet him raised many eyebrows.
There is no official confirmation on Vikram Goud’s involvement with the drugs racket. Police will verify if he has connections with the peddlers.
Police is also verifying if Vikram used to take any kind of narcotic.
In 2013, Banjara Hills police booked a case against Vikram Goud and six others for abducting and assaulting two businessmen in an attempt to extort money.
Police suspects that if Vikram Goud was indeed the victim of an attempt to murder, the attackers could have been sent by his rivals from land deals or other financial disputes.
Sources close to the politician say that he had invested in pubs, restaurants, movies and real estate. It is also suspected that he was suffering from huge debts and “was under a lot of pressure.”
In March, 2014, Chandrasekhar and Shashikanth, two partners of Equator Longue Bar at Road No. 36, Jubilee Hills, lodged a complaint against Vikram Goud alleging that he had ab-ducted and assaulted them. They claimed that Vikram Goud, at the behest of Karthik and Shivaji Goud, who they were having a financial dispute with, had abducted them from the Yellow Chilli restaurant in Banjara Hills.
The two were taken to the house of Vikram’s father Mukesh Goud, then a minister, at Jubilee Hills. Once there, they were told to settle the dispute with Karthik and Shivaji Goud.
