Engineer killed, 3 hurt in mishap in Ranga Reddy district
The victims, all hailing from Secunderabad, were friends who went on a weekend trip to Vikarabad.
Hyderabad: A 21-year-old engineering graduate died and three others suffered injuries in an accident in Ranga Reddy district in the wee hours of Sunday.
The mishap occurred when the car in which the victims were traveling rammed into an RTC bus coming from the opposite direction.
The engineering graduate, G. Shivani, died on the spot, while Sai, Ateesh and Apoorva suffered severe injuries. The victims, all hailing from Secunderabad, were friends who went on a weekend trip to Vikarabad.
On Sunday morning, they started back for Hyderabad. Sai was driving. When the car passed through Damaragidda village, the driver of an RTC bus coming from Hyderabad noticed that it was being driven at a very high speed. Police suspect that Sai may have been drowsy, lost control of the car, and eventually hit another bus.
Police are waiting for the injured persons to speak, for more details on the accident. The three injured passengers in the car were rushed to a nearby private hospital and their condition is said to be critical.
Based on a complaint from Shivani’s father G. Santosh, a case was registered and the body handed over to the family after post-mortem. Police said there were around 30 passengers in the RTC bus when the mishap occurred.
