K Chandrasekhar Rao okays Rs 25 lakh for 11-month-old's liver transplant
Mr Rao released the money from the CM's Relief Fund immediately.
Hyderabad: Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao on Monday sanctioned Rs 25 lakh from the CM’s Relief Fund for the liver transplant of an 11-month-old baby from Gajwel.
After learning of the the plight of boy’s parents who could not afford the costly transplant, Mr Rao issued orders sanctioning the amount on humanitarian grounds,
Devasani Sriman, son of Hanuman Das of Gajwel town, has been ailing since his birth. Doctors attending on him said that a liver transplant was the only solution. His parents were worried over arranging a huge amount for treatment.
When the issue came to the notice of Mr Rao, he directed Siddipet collector Venkatram Reddy to take steps for Sriman’s treatment. The collector reported back that the doctors had stated the bill would be Rs 25 lakh. Responding to this, Mr Rao released the money from the CM’s Relief Fund immediately.
The collectors handed over the cheque for the amount to Sriram’s parents at a corporate hospital where Sriman he is undergoing the treatment.
