Hyderabad: The joint meeting of the TPCC senior leaders and executive committee held at Gandhi Bhavan on Tuesday, decided to give a strong counter to TRS’ “Pragathi Nivedana Sabha” to be held on September 2. TPCC decided to invite UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi to this meeting. The meeting will be in the name of “People’s anguish in TRS rule”.

The meeting also decided to write an open letter to people on the unfulfilled assurances of Chief Minister K Chand-rasekhar Rao.  The meeting was attended by TPCC chief N. Uttam Kumar Reddy and Telangana Congress affairs incharge RC Khuntia and others. The meeting decided to announce the party candidates for 50 per cent seats once there was clarity on early polls to the assembly. In this list, the candidates who were not dogged by controversies would be announced.

The TPCC will also constitute committees for various tasks like preparing election manifesto, campaign strategies and election management. The members at the meeting also decided to constitute coordination committees at the state and constituency levels.  After the meeting, Mr Uttam said that the party would welcome leaders who wanted to join unconditionally.

He said that the party was ready to face assembly elections whenever it was called and the Congress would win 75 seats. He said that party leaders’ suggestions and people’s requirements would be taken into consideration while preparing the manifesto.  He said in the selection of candidates, apart from winning chances, the party would give priority to social justice. The CM would be decided only after the elections.
