Tamil Nadu CM Stalin Asks DMK Cadre to Work Hard, Unitedly

Chennai: Chief Minister M K Stalin called upon his cadre to put up a united hard work for the success of the DMK in the coming Lok Sabha elections as the party had the responsibility of ushering in a new dawn in the whole country, which alone would get adequate funds for the State and also help chase the communal darkness away.

Marking the fifth anniversary of his becoming the president of the DMK on Monday, Stalin, in an epistle to his cadre, stressed on the need for a sweeping victory in the State in 2024 for the ‘I.N.D.I.A’ (Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance) to romp home at the national level.

Recalling the situation of the DMK when he became the president in 2018 following the passing away of M Karunanidhi, who presided over the party for about half a century, he said the party was in the opposition in the State with no representation in the Lok Sabha.

Subsequent to his taking over the reins of the party, he formed a successful coalition in 2019 not just for fighting the elections but one based on ideology. That secular alliance enabled the DMK to become the third largest party in the Lok Sabha, he noted.

Apart from winning the State Assembly by retaining the tie-up with the alliance partner, the DMK also triumphed in the local body elections that followed, thus providing the nation a formula for electoral success.

Now the DMK, along with 26 other parties, is part of the I.N.D.I.A coalition, which had already given the jitters to the BJP for the real India was with them, he said. The coalition alone would usher in a new dawn for the nation in 2024, he said, adding that to achieve that DMK total success in the State was essential.

Affirming the continuation of the present coalition in the 2024 elections, he said DMK should continue to be in power in the State, which would otherwise slide down in development as it was seen during the 10 years of AIADMK rule.

The DMK government had been striving hard to meet the needs of the people, despite the rulers in Union government, knowing very well that they could never form a government in the State, handing out a step motherly treatment by cutting down on funds and flagrantly favoring State ruled by the BJP, he said.

Acknowledging the hard work of the DMK cadre in ensuring the party’s victory in the 2021 State elections, Stalin called on them to put up the same hard work and remain united for repeating the same success in 2024 elections.
