EPFO Commissioner Neelam Shami Rao Leads Swachhata Hi Seva Campaign in Telangana
Hyderabad: Neelam Shami Rao, Central Provident Fund Commissioner, EPFO, on Friday stressed the significance of public cleanliness and encouraged everyone to embrace the spirit of Swachhata Hi Seva.
She was speaking at an event at the Employees Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) regional office at Barkatpura. Shami Rao was recently appointed nodal officer for Telangana for the Swachhata Hi Seva campaign, by the Union labour ministry.
Swachata Hi Seva, which started on September 15, will conclude on Gandhi Jayanti, October 2. On October 1, a significant cleanliness drive is planned on the theme of 'Ek Tareekh-Ek Ghanta,' as a tribute to Mahatma Gandhi.
Present at Shami Rao’s review meeting were Vaishali Dayal, additional Central PF commissioner for Telangana, and regional PF commissioners Dr Shiv Kumar (Barkatpura) and Saurabh Jagati (Madhapur).
Nodal officers from various departments and organisations under the labour ministry participated in a meeting. Shami Rao later visited several offices to promote the campaign, including the deputy Chief labour commissioner's office and the Directorate General of Mines Safety in Kavadiguda.
Shami Rao distributed prizes to school students who had won various competitions.
