Ganesh idol fete, a testament to Sanatana Dharma: Union Minister
Hyderabad: The Ganesha idol immersion celebrations in Hyderabad are a slap on the face of those who say Sanatana Dharma is like dengue and malaria, said Union minister Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti.
She was speaking at an event organised by the Bhagyanagar Ganesh Utsav Samiti (BGUS) during the immersion procession.
In a speech peppered with references to Sanatana Dharma at the Moazzamjahi Market in Hyderabad, she challenged the status of those who seek to undermine it. “We had promised to build a Ram temple at the same place and that is going to materialise. We will return to power in 2024. The country has changed now,” she said.
“After building the new Parliament building we passed the women's reservation bill and gave women representation. I congratulate women for this,” she said adding, “The world now listens to what Bharat says.”
Bheeshma Ravinder from the BGUS said, “Santana Dharma will continue to save and reform itself. Hindu dharma is being accepted across the world and people are converting to the Hindu religion.”
BJP MLA Etala Rajendar who welcomed the Union minister, said, “The BGUS has been in the forefront in upholding the faith of the people. Ganesh pandals have become ubiquitous in every nook and corner of the city. I hope the samithi plays its role in upholding our culture.”
