TPCC meet today to be hot affair
In spite of being unseated from the constituency, many senior leaders continue to support Mr Uttam Kumar Reddy.
Hyderabad: In the wake of the debacle in the Huzurnagar byelection, the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) will take stock of the political situation with two separate core committee and executive committee meetings lined up for Tuesday.
The core committee comprises TPCC president B. Uttam Kumar Reddy, working presidents, AICC secretaries from the state and AICC general secretary and TS Congress affairs incharge R.C Khuntia and AICC incharge secretaries.
In spite of being unseated from the constituency, many senior leaders continue to support Mr Uttam Kumar Reddy. Those opposed to his continuation are backing TPCC working president and MP A. Revanth Reddy.
Congress MLA T. Jayaprakash ‘Jagga’ Reddy said Mr Uttam Kumar Reddy remained the spearhead, although some sections are wondering how he could enjoy such a status when his wife Padmavathi failed to win the Huzurnagar seat which he had vacated.
Compared to the core committee meeting, the executive committee could be quite volatile while discussing the Huzurnagar setback. The main agenda is to discuss and finalise a strategy on going about the ensuing municipal elections.
Besides, some senior Congress leaders have questioned Mr Revanth Reddy’s showmanship during the Congress plan to besiege the Chief Minister’s residence.
