26/11 martyr's daughter inducted into Maharashtra government
Daughter of late constable Shashank Shinde was inducted into the Sales Tax Department as assistant commissioner.
Mumbai: Maharashtra government on Tuesday inducted the daughter of 26/11 martyr constable Shashank Shinde, into the Sales Tax Department as assistant commissioner.
"Nivedita Shashank Shinde has been appointed on the post of Assistant Sales Tax Commissioner in Sales Tax Department on compassionate ground," state Finance Minister Sudhir Mungantiwar said, as he gave her the order of her appointment at a programme held here.
The programme held in Sahyadri Guest House was attended by Principal Secretary to Finance Department V Giriraj, Shashank Shinde's wife Manasi Shashank Shinde, his another daughter Aditi Shinde and other officers and dignitaries.
"You will fulfil your father's dream to serve the country. Today while giving this order for appointment in the government service there is a sad background to it," Mungantiwar said.

As per the government resolution dated January 20, 2009, there is a provision to include one family member of the police personnel martyred in the dreaded Mumbai terrorist attack of November 26, 2008, into government service in group B or group A.
Accordingly, the daughter of 'Kirti Chakra' awardee Shashank Shinde has been appointed in the Sales Tax Department in group A service (after she completed 21 years of age).
