Telangana govt seeks suggestions on promoting cashless transactions

KCR has already constituted a task force to devise means to promote cashless transactions.

Hyderabad: Having decided to move towards a cashless economy, the Telangana government today invited suggestions from the public on going about the task.

Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has already constituted a task force, headed by senior IAS officer Suresh Chanda, to devise means to promote cashless transactions.

"A task force has been constituted to study the cashless payments and receipts system and suggest policy and infrastructure measures required for moving towards a cashless economy. Hence, the citizens are requested to give their suggestions on the above subject, positively by December 10, 2016 to the following email id: cashless.suresh@gmail.com," the state government said today.

After a meeting of the state Cabinet last night, the Chief Minister said the government has decided to promote bank-based, cashless transactions. The measures announced by him include accepting cashless transactions in the Registration Department.

He also said the state IT department would come up with a mobile application, 'TS-Wallet', for the benefit of the citizens.
