Many working women from Hyderabad tweeted about how professions were not restricted by gender, along with the #WomenPower.
HYDERABAD: #WomenPower was trending in Hydera-bad on Twitter on Tuesday as a female loco pilot steered the inaugural train at the launch of the Hyderabad Metro Rail (HMR) by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Minister K.T. Rama Rao tweeted earlier this week that 35 women loco pilots from various parts of the state had been trained operate the Metro trains. His tweet has been retweeted over 700 times so far.
Many working women from Hyderabad tweeted about how professions were not restricted by gender, along with the #WomenPower.
Citizens took to social media to celebrate the inauguration of the metro rail. They said that they were excited to experience it for themselves from Wednesday onwards, after a decade-long wait. Many professionals said that they were looking forward to a “traffic-free” daily commute.
Those who waited under the Miyapur Station to catch a glimpse of the Prime Minister shared photos of themselves online.
People also shared details of metro fares in states across the country and said that the HMR had the second lowest fare in the country. They said that widespread use of the metro would help protect the environment.
