Telangana: Superstition cases need to be dealt firmly
The system has relevant acts and laws on controlling superstitions in society.
HYDERABAD: Though governments are holding awareness programmes in rural and remote areas against superstitions, experts are saying a system on strict implementation is needed. The recent incident in Nallamala forest near Akka Mahadevi Caves where locals suspect that human sacrifice had taken place in the recent past, is one such incident that is bothering non-believers.
B. Nagaraju, an advocate from Malakpet, said that the system has relevant acts and laws on controlling superstitions in society. “The system should implement it and should resolve such cases as soon as possible by filing chargesheets without any delay. It is not only the duty of NGOs, the government should also conduct awareness programmes in remote and rural areas,” he said.
