Telangana: Techies turn to the occult to save jobs
2,000 techies have changed their names in fear of layoffs.
HYDERABAD: In order to protect their jobs in the era of layoffs, majority of techies have become superstitious and have started approaching astrologers, numerologists, babas and even those practising black magic. As per the reports from the IT sector in the city, more than 2,000 techies have modified their names as per the directions of numerologists.
Requests for change in the way the names are spelt are piling up in the HR departments of IT companies. Majority of the notices of ‘Name Change’ in the newspapers these days have been placed by techies. V. Ashwin Chandra, a manager with a prominent IT company said that out of the 30 persons of his team members, four had modified their names according to the suggestions given by their numerologists and there were a few more who were queuing up to do the same.
“We are holding counselling sessions for such techies. They have to understand that if their names did not have the right vibe in the first place, how did they get jobs in MNCs in the first place? The major cause behind such acts is low level of confidence,” he said. S. Pallavi, an HR staff from an IT company said that they have received nearly 50 requests for name-change from their techie staff.
Mr Naveen Chintala, an IT employee, said, few techies were appro-aching those practicing black magic to protect their jobs. “Those who score least performance grades in the office are the victims of layoffs. Suppose a team consists of 10 techies. In layoffs, three from the bottom of the list stand the stron-gest chance of being asked to leave. While these are approaching the babas and the black magic buys, the high-end performers are also approaching them with the fear that there are others who will do their black magic on them”, he said.
Techies victims of low confidence, fear:
While techies are approaching babas and astrologers for remedies, few prominent astrol-ogers are saying that majority of techies approaching them do not have any real problems but due to fear and low confidence levels, they are worrying themselves and rushing to numerologistsa and babas. R.V.N.H. Sharma, an astrologer from Kond-apur, said that though the techies had enough strength in their Kundli, they were worried bec-ause of their office environment. “A team leader working with a prominent IT company in Hitec City had no issues with his Kundli. But when I tried to explain this to him, he didn’t listen to me. He just kept asking for remedies. As per the principles of astrology, I suggested to him that he should visit temples every day. More than the female techies, the male techies are the ones who were approaching astrologers,” he said.
A priest of Vamachara and Upasaka of Praty-angira in Nagole on the condition of anonymity said that about 10 software professionals with top positions in IT companies visited him in the last 30 days. “Though they are not having any problem, they themselves thought that they were under the influence of black magic and asked me for Pratyangira ho-mam to boomerang the experiments on their enemies.
I utilise technology like ‘Universal Scanner’ developed by a retired DRDO scientist to measure negative energy in a particular person and things. My team uses Electro Magnetic Field Readers and few adva-nced cameras to check whether the person coming to us genuinely has any issue. The 10 persons who met us had good vibes of positive energy with auras of at least 10m, he said. Prominent personality developer Dr Vangeepuram Srinatha Chary said that EEE (Enviro-nment, Education and Experiences) factor was behind the believing of superstitions by highly educated persons. “Bef-ore coming to a conclusion or approaching fake babas, educated persons should check EEE and should rectify negatives by either self or with the help of professional counsellors,” he said.
