Hyderabad: Hyderabad police commissioner M. Mahender Reddy said that they would investigate the role of police in the case of gangster Ayub Khan’s Multiple passports. He said that the police would also ensure the cases against him are pursued well in court so that he does not escape once again without conviction.

“We are verifying how he (Ayub) got the passport. We will probe if negligence of police officers had helped him to get them,” said the commissioner. Sources say that Ayub Khan had been getting continuous help from police late in 2000 for a long time. Without the help of an SB official, it would not have been possible for him to get a passport in a fake name, sources said.

Talking about the cases against the gangster and the possibility of them falling flat in the court, the police chief said that they would try to speed up the process of investigation and disposal of evidences in the court.

“We will try our best to protect the witnesses and petitioners so that they do not turn hostile and the case does not fall apart in the court,” the official said.
The commissioner said that the Hyderabad police will not allow rowdies to lurk in the city anymore.
