Hyderabad: Over 4,000 contract lecturers in government junior and degree colleges in the state will launch an indefinite stir demanding hike in salaries.

They want the salary that is paid to permanent lecturers, as stated in GO 3 issued in the undivided state. A contract lecturer in a junior college earns Rs 18,000 against Rs 20,700 for a permanent lecturer, Mr K. Suresh of the Government Contract Lecturers JAC said.
