Liquor outlets can be open till late night on New Year Eve
This relaxation for one night will also be applicable to event managements and in-house licensees of the tourism development corporation
Hyderabad: New Year eve celebrations in the state received a fillip with the Telangana government announcing on Tuesday that bars, pubs, and other licence holders can serve liquor up to 1am on the intervening night of December 31 and January 1, 2022.
This relaxation for one night will also be applicable to event managements and in-house licensees of the tourism development corporation.
The government said liquor and wine shops can stay open upon up to 12am on the night of December 31.
The orders to this effect were issued by chief secretary Somesh Kumar on Tuesday. He said the orders were issued “in relaxation of the rules in vogue subject to observance of the standard operation procedures for Covid19.”
In a circular issued on Tuesday, Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar said licence-holders of 2B (bars), C1 licensees (in-house), EP1 (event permit) and TD1 (in-house) licensees of tourism development corporation can serve liquor up to 1am on the night of December 3, whereas the A4 licence retail shops would be open till midnight.
