Cops will frame my son, says Asif Ali kin
Asif Ali had studied till 10th standard.
Bengaluru: Family members of the arrested terror suspect Asif Ali are hysterical about the police framing their only son in terror cases shattering his future and the family’s dignity. In an interview with Deccan Chronicle, Asif Ali’s father Mohmmad Ismail said that the police barged into his house in Bapujinagar around 3 am on January 22, and cornered Asif.
They then locked up Ismail in another room. The police searched their entire house including the lofts and took away some circuit boards of old television sets, a packet of boric powder, multiple movie CDs and few religious literature in Tamil. The police had also written out a list of these items on a white paper on which they took Ismail’s signature.
“I am a TV mechanic and they (police) have taken some IC circuit boards from my house. They have also taken a packet of boric powder used while playing carrom board from our house along with a number of movie CDs. Now I am scared what if the police plant evidences against my son claiming that the circuit boards and the white powder were meant for bomb making and the CDs and religious literature were for planning and plotting attacks and radicalization,” Ismail said.
He then observed, “As a father, I know my son more than anybody else. He was picked up by the police on his birthday (January 22) he was turning 20. Though my son along with his friend Suhail Ahmed (another arrested terror suspect) used to attend Syed Ansar Qasmi’s sermons together in Makkah masjid in Banashankari, he is not involved in any anti-national activities, and I am sure he will walk out free if the police conduct a fair probe.”
