GUNTUR: The AP Legislative Committee on Estimates on Friday conducted review meetings with officials of various government departments. Chairman of the committee, M. Venugopala Reddy said they would submit a detailed report to AP Assembly speaker, K. Sivaprasada Rao. He said they would conduct meeting with CRDA officials as well as due to its importance in view of the construction of Amaravati capital city.

Mr Venugopala Reddy claimed that such committees exist only in Canada and India. He said that committee had visited Jammu and Kashmir and Andaman and Nicobar to study public’s response to government welfare schemes.

The committee members— MLAs G. Rammohan, M. Geetha, G. Sankar, T. Sravankumar, Ch. Bhaskar Reddy, U. Kalpana, K. Sarveswara Rao, K. Venkataramana Murthy — and  MLAs P. Viswaprasada Rao, A. Appa Rao and Srinivasulu Naidu participated in the review meetings.
