TNPSC to recruit 5,513 persons this year

The much anticipated written exam for the VAO posts will be conducted on February 28 as per the annual planner.

Chennai: Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC) is to recruit 5,513 persons for various government jobs in 2016, including deputy collectors, assistant commissioners in commercial tax department and other posts.

While releasing the annual recruitment planner for the year 2016. TNPSC chairman K.Arulmozhi said, "We are expecting a few other departments too to notify the vacant posts. After that, the total recruitment for the year may go up to 10,000."  

"Many exams scheduled in November and December last year were postponed due to the heavy rains and floods. Nine competitive exams which were already notified will be conducted this year," he added.

The much anticipated written exam for the VAO posts will be conducted on February 28 as per the annual planner. In the Group IV services cadre totally 4,931 posts will be filled. The written exam is tentatively scheduled on October 16.

"For the first time, TNPSC is going to conduct the exam for the posts of tourist officer and deputy managers in ELCOT.  In the last three months 6,054 posts have been filled," Arulmozhi said.
