Mysuru techie in PM Narendra Modi's Mann ki baat
Darshan had shared his thoughts with PM Modi on how the Jan Aushadhi initiative provided quality and affordable healthcare to his father.
Mysuru: Darshan M.A. from Mysuru about whom Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke in Mann Ki Baat on Sunday, is mesmerised with this gesture. He has already thanked the PM through twitter lauding Mr Modi’s initiatives to bring about change.
Darshan had shared his thoughts with PM Modi on how the Jan Aushadhi initiative provided quality and affordable healthcare to his father in Mygov.in app. He even wanted this to be mentioned in the PM’s Mann Ki Baat so that it could benefit others. 32-year-old Darshan, a techie and a consultant in PCS company in Bengaluru, is a resident of BMC Nagar here and son of 70-year-old Purushotham, a temple priest.
Speaking to Deccan Chronicle, Darshan said, “My father suffered a stroke seven years ago and has been spending Rs 6000 per month. Recently when I went looking for a government hospital for the pulse polio programme, for my two kids, I saw a huge queue near a Jan Aushadi medical shop at the government hospital premises. While I had spent Rs 6000 per month, the generic medicines at the Jan Aushadi counters cost me 75 percent less.
The result was the same and it had no side effects as my father used it. I wanted this information to reach the masses so that they could benefit. So I downloaded mygov.in app and sent the message only last week. When there are so many people writing to him, I had not expected mine to be read out. PM Modi is taking a lot of good initiatives to bring about change, we expect more such initiatives,” he said.
