Andhra Pradesh seizes Agri Gold assets
They demanded that the government repay the deposits of the victims by selling the assets of Agri Gold.
Vijayawada: The AP government on Friday seized assets of the scam-hit Agri Gold in Vijayawada, Guntur and Hyderabad.
The 33 seized properties were in the name of Agri Gold directors and are worth around Rs 30 crore.
Officials said that the lands were in the names of directors A.V. Sivaramakrishna, A. Karunasri, A. Sivaram, A. Sridevi, A. Seetharama Rao, A. Madhavilatha and A. Udaya Bhaskar Rao at Guntur, Vijayawada and Hyderabad. A total of 47.26 acres of land was seized in the three places.
The Agri Gold victims welcomed the move and urged the government to do justice by selling the seized properties, including prime asset Haailand.
Agri Gold Customers and Agents Welfare Association leaders said that 211 Agri Gold victims had committed suicide and their families were facing severe financial trouble.
They demanded that the government repay the deposits of the victims by selling the assets of Agri Gold.
