Govt failure in setting up village courts irks Telangana HC

The HC said that it was not fair on the part of the state and the government was indirectly causing delayed justice.

Hyderabad: The Telangana High Court on Tuesday expressed displeasure over the state government’s apathy to their recommendation to establish village courts across the state. It directed state government to clarify the status of proposal.

A division bench comprising Chief Justice Thottathil B. Radhakrishnan and Justice A. Rajasekhar Reddy was dealing with the plea of  Mr M. Narendar Goud who sought directions to the Telangana state government for the establishment of gram nyayalayas. Anguished at state government’s laxity to their nomination to establish 55 village courts, the HC said that it was not fair on the part of the state and the government was indirectly causing delayed justice.
