UAE man's plea to help Kerala still trending

Alappuzha: Act for Kerala, a 1.2-min video put out by the UAE vlogged Khalid Al-Ameri seeking support for Kerala soon after the flood, continues to create flutter online.
For the last five months, mainly during the stand-off between the Union and the state over accepting the UAE aid, it grabbed the attention of two million people online.
It received 80,000 comments and 90,000 shares on Facebook. Mr Ameri was carrying a poster etched with the catchword “Act for Kerala” on the video seeking emotional and financial support for Kerala.
“People (of Kerala) don’t know what they want to do and what is the next, and there is a way to help. Chief Minister has set up a relief fund (CMDRF). Lulu and Al-Ansari exch-anges allow people to contribute to CMDRF directly with no charge. It's time we all come together to support Kerala," he says.
"Anything you can do. If you don’t contribute the fund, share the news and video so that people of Kerala don’t feel their cries will not fall on deaf ears. It is the opportunity to show humanity and to ensure our bests. I prefer the people of Kerala we are listening... we are here whole done... much love.. God bless you”.
Soon thank you messages start flooding. The comments, many of them by Keralite expats in the UAE, said it made them call the UAE their second home.
