Shops, offices shut in Hyderabad for bharat bandh against CAA-NRC

Hyderabad: Most shops and offices in the Old City remained closed on Wednesday in response to a nationwide bandh call given by Bharat Mukti Morcha against CAA-NPR-NRC.

While the impact in main markets was partial, shops in interior areas of the Old City remained closed. Schools and colleges in the area too were shut. The shutdown was complete in other Muslim-majority areas like Nam-pally and Tolichowki.

On the shutters, the shopkeepers pasted post-ers reading “With Indian passport you can prove yourself an Indian in all countries of the world, except your own country. New India.”
