Telugu Desam leaders demand Bharat Ratna for NTR
He is the pride of Andhra Pradesh and propagated the greatness of Telugu language and people all over the world, says a TD leader.
Visakhapatnam: On the occasion of Telugu Desam’s 34th Formation Day, some TD leaders staged ‘Jala Deeksha’ (protest in the water), at the RK Beach, opposite YMCA, in Visakhapatnam on Tuesday, demanding Bharat Ratna award for TD founder and former chief minister Dr. N.T. Rama Rao.
Speaking on the occasion, Sanapala Panduranga Rao, a TD leader, said NTR deserves Bharat Ratna as he always worked for the welfare of the people and that there was no contemporary leader matching his popularity.”
The emergence of TD has created a party for the poor. NTR provided stable governance to the people of Andhra Pradesh and was a pioneer in introducing various welfare schemes for the marginalised and backward classes.
