Bengaluru: Rain hits traffic, uproots 14 trees

Bengaluru: Rains lashed the city on Saturday, leading to disruption of traffic across the city and uprooting of 14 trees. Most cases of tree fall happened in Rajarajeshwari Nagar BBMP zone. Tree falls were reported in areas such as Kengeri, BEML Layout, BHEL Layout, Jnanabharathi, Vadagerehalli, Kenchenahalli, Vidyapeeta Circle, Hosahalli and others.
A tree fell over a parked car near COD quarters Kengeri, but no casualties were reported. Traffic was thrown out of gear in areas such as Koramangala, Indiranagar, M.G. Road, J.C. Road, Lalbagh Road, Vijaynagar, Vidyapeeta Circle and Gandhi Bazaar. Owing to the rain, roads adjoining M G Road got flooded. However, BBMP control room did not record any complaint related to water logging.
According to MET department, the city recorded 3.8 mm of rain while HAL airport received 0.5 mm. The MET department said the rain is set to continue on Sunday.
