BENGALURU: The Met department has forecast cloudy skies for another two days with one or two spells of rain and thundershowers in some areas. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be around 30 and 21 degrees Celsius respectively.

On Sunday the maximum temperature was only 28.4 degrees Celsius, about 10 degree Celsius less from its peak this summer, while the minimum temperature was 19.9 degrees Celsius. Though the rains on Saturday brought respite from soaring temperature, the traffic flow was affected due to the uprooting of trees in various parts of the city. BBMP staff had a tough time clearing the trees, as the rain lashed throughout the night.

However, there were no complaints of flooding of houses, but there was waterlogging near flyovers on some major roads in the city. As many as six trees were uprooted in BBMP South Zone - four at JP Nagar, one each at BTM Layout and Kumaraswamy Layout. Three trees got uprooted in East zone, two in West zone, four in Bommanahalli and one in Rajarajeshwarinagar.

Traffic flow was affected in South zone as the BBMP staff could remove them only by Sunday morning. The city that witnessed record breaking temperatures a month ago is now back to its cool, thanks to the May showers.
