Chemists strike: Telangana government pharmacies to remain open

The association said that as they are not part of the bandh.

Hyderabad: Chemists are on strike on Tuesday to protest the GST regime, but medicines will be available at government stores and hospital pharmacies.

Dr Sai Kumar K, president of Doctor of Pharmacy Association (a non-profit professional organisation) said, “Pharmacists in main markets of Secunderabad, Nampally, Abids and other districts where people can get medicines will keep the stores open.”

Public health centres in Nampally, Golconda, Alwal, Yapral, Rani Gunj, Mettuguda, Abids, ECIL, Nacharam and also other areas of the city will be open.

The association said that as they are not part of the bandh and that they are going to open their shops early in the wholesale and retail markets of all the districts in the state so that the people are not inconvenienced.
