Two from Karnataka secure 10, 11 ranks in CLAT

Bengaluru: For the first time in recent years, two students have made Karnataka proud by securing All India Rank (AIR) 10 and 11 in the CLAT 2017 conducted by CNLU, Patna. 18 National Law Universities, including the National Law School of India University (NLSIU), Bengaluru, are the participating institutes.

Dhrishaj Suresh from Mangaluru and Ananya from Mysuru are the two students who have secured the top ranks.

Dhrishaj, has scored 146.5 for a maximum of 200, to secure the tenth rank. Dhrishaj, a resident of Mangaluru and a student of Sharada Vidyalaya, said that every Saturday night, he and his father used to board the bus from Mangaluru to Bengaluru to attend CLAT coaching.

Dhrishaj’s father is a retired army officer. “In Mangaluru engineering and medical admissions are given priority. My dad wanted best coaching for me for CLAT,” he said.

His ambition is to join the Indian Foreign Service (IFS).

Ananya, who has secured the 11th rank, has scored 146 marks. “I used travelled to Bengaluru every weekend for coaching. I want to join NLSIU in Bengaluru,” she said. “I was aiming to join NLSIU soon after I completed by class X days," she said.

Both her father and mother, Satish H.V. and Suchitha S., are doctors. "But my aim was to join NLSIU," she said.
