Tamil Nadu releases 25 unrecognised schools list
The Department found that 25 schools in Thiruvallur district were functioning without obtaining NOC and recognition from the concerned authorities.
Chennai: The State Government has released a list of 25 unrecognised schools in Chennai and cautioned the parents to be wary of them. In a release, the Department of School Education on Wednesday stated that, based on the direction of Madras High Court and section 18(1) of RTI Act-2009, the department has issued a circular to the school management to obtain necessary permission from the authorities. The department also directed the school managements to obtain NOC and recognition from the authorities.
Subsequently, Regional and District Education officials conducted inspection and issued show cause notice to the schools not having the NOC and recognition considering the future of the students enrolled in these schools. The students of those schools may not be able to appear for public exams.
The Department found that 25 schools in Thiruvallur district were functioning without obtaining NOC and recognition from the concerned authorities. The department has requested the parents not to admit their children in these schools. As notice has been issued to these schools, the authorities warned the managements that legal action would be taken against them.
