Hyderabad: A fire broke out at the Johnson Grammar School in LB Nagar late on Wednesday due to a short circuit in the computer room in the primary school block on the first floor. Fire and police officials said the fire started in the computer room as some computers were not switched off There were no causalities.

Eyewitness Ram said the fire began at around 11:30 pm and spread as there were files and papers in the adjacent room. The fire department sent a fire tender from Habsiguda, which took around 30 minutes to reach the spot. By the time the fire teams arrived most of the flames were doused using fire extinguishers on the school premises. It took around 15 minutes for the fire team to put out the fire completely. Police said the building had all legal documents and fire safety measures. Head constable Kiran Kumar said, “The fire was sparked by a short circuit in the computer room” School administrator Annie Jose said, “The fire was put out with the help of fire service teams and our own fire safety equipment.”

The fire started in the computer room located between two primary classes. The room had important documents which were destroyed in the mishap."
