Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Friday handed over the keys of houses constructed under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana – Urban to beneficiaries in a public meeting held at Leader Road Press grounds in Prayagraj. These houses in Prayagraj have been built on land freed from the clutches of slain Mafia Atique Ahmed.

Speaking on the occasion, CM Yogi stated that on the lines of Prayagraj, in every district of UP, houses for the poorer sections of the society will be constructed on land freed from the illegal occupation of the mafias. His government has already issued necessary instructions to all the districts’ development authorities to implement the scheme. He further reiterated that BJP government stands with poor and weaker sections of the society and is continuously working for their upliftment and welfare.

He mentioned how earlier mafias were emboldened to openly carry out their criminal activities of loot, extortion and land grabbing but BJP government has systemically carried out operations to annihilate the mafia gangs, break their spirit and contain their criminal activities. An important strategy of these operations has been to free the land from their clutches and utilise it to construct affordable housing for the weaker sections of the society.
