Telangana: Lumbini laser show to be relocated
The Chief Minister held the auspicious ground breaking' ceremony in the area that was earlier the parking lot of Lumbini Park.
Hyderabad: The fabled laser show at Lumbini Park may soon be relocated to the centre of the Hussain Sagar, highlighting the Buddha statue and could be enjoyed free of cost. This has come up for discussion because the place in Lumbini Park where the laser show is being conducted currently, is right next to the land earmarked for the Telangana Martyrs Memorial, a pet project of the Telangana government and the Chief Minister.
The state is very keen on making the Martyrs Memorial a one of its kind spot in the country with a tall memorial along with a park, a museum and a library to showcase and immortalize the spirit of the statehood movement and sacrifices made by activists to be revered by future generations.
The electricity and tourism offices along with the Budha Purnima project offices are expected to be relocated to pave the way for the construction of this memorial. The Chief Minister held the auspicious ‘ground breaking’ ceremony in the area that was earlier the parking lot of Lumbini Park. With the government keen on constructing a huge memorial, a small portion of the park that is spread over 7.5 acres is likely to be allotted for the project. The laser show area is right next to the place where CM did the puja. Currently, there are temporary plastic sheets separating the two areas.
The government is now very keen to conduct laser shows, near the Buddha statue, for a wonderful experience for visitors at the lake.
