Hanan Hamid case: 1 more held for bullying
People who posted and shared abusive posts against Hanan had deleted those from their timeline after the police had started taking actions.
Kochi: The police on Sunday arrested one more person in connection with the Facebook abuse against Hanan Hamid, a college student who sold fish for living.
Palarivattom police arrested Viswanathan, a nati-ve of Guruvayoor, under IT Act for being part of the abusive campaign and posting a derogatory comment against the woman under a video posted by one Nooruddin Sheik.
According to cops, the accused was interrogated at the Palarivattom police station by a police team under Assistant Commiss-ioner of Police (ACP) Erna-kulam K.Laljy.
Viswanathan has been charged under section 67 of IT Act, section 509 of IPC and 120 (O) of Kerala Police Act. He was produced before the court, which remanded him to judicial custody.
The police had earlier arrested Nooruddin Sheik, a Wayanad native, who was released after detailed interrogation.
Police is collecting the details of people who had attacked Hanan through the virulent and abusive campaign on social media.
Meanwhile, the cops are slated to interrogate more persons including the reporter of an online daily in connection with the case.

Hanan, who sells fish in the city after college hours, has been in media after a regional daily published a story about her.Though the story became viral online, it later created a wave of outrage with a section of people terming it cooked-up and unleashed a verbal assault on her and the publication.
