Hyderabad: Son says he prayed to Allah to save mom's life
Nevertheless, she died soon after reaching hospital.
HYDERABAD: Mohd Fayaz Khan, 23, won’t easily forget July 29, for the rest of his life. It was when he pulled out his mother from the ill-fated car that met with an accident in neighbouring Nalgonda district and rushed her to Hyderabad. “Nevertheless, she died soon after reaching the hospital. Throughout the 70-km journey I prayed to Allah to save my mother. But fate had something else in store for her,” said an inconsolable Fayaz. The families started in three cars from the city at 4.30 am for Nagarjunasagar dam for a picnic.
“At 5.30 am, our car stopped and we offered the ‘Fajr’ namaz at an open ground on the roadside. The other two cars went ahead. Minutes later we came to know about the accident and soon rushed to the spot. The car that met with the accident was the first in the convoy, another car carrying women members of the family was following it,” he said. “Within minutes we reached the spot and pulled out the injured from the car. Only Mohd Tahamu, 5, had died then. We ourselves rushed the remaining injured to hospital where doctors declared three others brought dead. Two others died at the Osmania General Hospital,” Fayaz said.
Among the dead are three persons from the same family Akhtar Begum, 50, and her two sons Mohd Abbas and Mohd Mustafa while two members of another family, Mohd Moin and his son Tahanmu, were killed while Moin’s wife Noori remains in a critical condition. Fortunately, three other children of Moin were travelling in another car.
