Che Guevara\'s daughter calls on Pinarayi Vijayan
She recalled her first visit to Kerala and enjoyed the natural beauty of the state. The Chief Minister enquired about the well-being of Che\'s family.
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan had a special guest on Monday morning when Cuban revolutionary Che Guevara's daughter Aleida Guevara visited him at his official residence, Cliff House.
The meeting with Cuba's valiant revolutionary's daughter was exciting, the Chief Minister said. CPM politburo member M.A. Baby was also present on the occasion.
The Chief Minister said his visit to Cuba, the Cuban solidarity conference and Kerala's rich biodiversity figured during the half-an- hour-long conversation. Despite her hectic schedule over the last few days, Aleida looked forward to her Kerala visit enthusiastically.
The Chief Minister and Mr Baby recollected their visit to Cuba to take part in the Cuban Solidarity meet in 1994. Aleida who attended that event also recollected the solidarity conference.

Mr Vijayan and family hosted breakfast for the Cuban leader.
Later Aleida called on CPM state secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishan, ministers K.K. Shailaja, Kadakamapally Surendran, C.Raveendranath and V.S. Sunil Kumar. Aleida also met other top CPM and CPI leaders.
She was received by Mr Baby, CPM district secretary Anavoor Nagappan, KTDC chairman M.Vijaykumar and Youth Commission chairperson Chintha Jerome at the airport on Sunday night.
Over the next four days she will take part in a series of meetings across the state. On July 31 she will visit EMS Academy and leave for Kannur the same night to take part in Cuban Solidarity meeting on August 1. The events are being organised by Women Collective and Samata.
On August 2 she will take part in the doctors meet being organised by the KGOA. Later Aleida will adders the Cuban Solidarity meet in Ernakulam.
A video of Aleida singing a Spanish song to cheer up a baby girl in Thiruvananthapuram has gone viral. She was seen singing and cuddling the baby. Mr Baby and his wife Betty Baby are also seen in the video.
