SFI Objects Land Allotment for Inorbit Mall in Vizag

Visakhapatnam: Students Federation of India (SFI) Visakha district secretary L.J. Naidu objected to the state government allotting 17 acres of valuable public land in Saligramapuram of Visakhapatnam to Inorbit Mall on a 30-year lease under the guise of Rahejas building an IT Tower at the spot.

“Not just this, many government lands in Vizag have been given to Adani and many other corporations,” he pointed out, saying SFI opposes such land allotments to private parties.

Addressing a press conference here on Sunday, L.J. Naidu demanded that AP Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy instead allot such lands for building welfare hostels for SC, ST, BC, and Minority students. He underlined that presently, most of these hostels are not functioning from their own buildings.

The SFI leader said the AP government’s policies like merging schools and closing hostels are aimed at taking away education from poor and common people.

“Valuable public lands in the city should not be privatised, but used for public purposes,” he underlined.
