Pawan Kalyan wants state to act on missing women

Vijayawada: Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan on Wednesday underlined that real Raksha Bandhan could be celebrated only when the state government acts responsibly and traces more than 30,000 girls and women missing in the state.

In a statement issued here on occasion of Raksha Bandhan, the JS chief extended greetings to all sisters to mark the auspicious day. He observed that it is not good for the society, especially the state government, to remain silent when girls and women were being subjected to injustice.

Pawan Kalyan wondered who would take responsibility for tracing the 30,000 missing girls and women when elders in the state government remained silent. “Who would listen to the cries of their parents,” he asked.

The Jana Sena president sounded confident that a day would come when the government will act responsibly towards such girls and women.

He also extended wishes to all women in both AP and TS on the occasion of Shravan Pournami on Wednesday.
