Kalaburagi: In a bold retort, Minister for IT-BT, Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Priyank Kharge likened out-of-power BJP leaders to fish struggling out of water and dismissed their moral authority to critique the Congress government in the state.

"Our unwavering commitment to effective governance remains intact. Given the behavior and approach of BJP leaders, their credibility in scrutinizing our government is questionable. The BJP's evident desperation mirrors a fish gasping out of water due to its exclusion from authority," he said and added that during Prime Minister Modi's recent visit to Bengaluru, the BJP leaders were confined behind barricades.

Kharge took the opportunity to shed light on the delay in the appointment of the leaders of the opposition.

"While Chandrayaan successfully reached the Moon, the BJP remains oblivious to their own opposition leader's identity. The party seems disoriented by its own internal dynamics," he said.

Shifting his attention towards former Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai, Kharge critiqued, "While serving as CM, Bommai consistently demanded evidence to substantiate claims. Yet, in a curious reversal, he now struggles to provide evidence for the allegations he makes. It appears that his accusations stem from a place of frustration, perhaps driven by a belief that the party leaders might propel him into the position of opposition leader," Kharge added.

Recent allegations on delay in payment of the contractors, Kharge clarified that the contractors association president has not made any corruption charges against the government.

"The concern raised pertains to payment delays. We are committed to promptly addressing this issue. Payments will be done after the third-party verification," he assured.
