Day 4: 18 buildings demolished by GHMC
The APIIC Colony faced demolition as a few structures were built on a nala.
Hyderabad: The demolition drive launched by GHMC on nala encroachments summed down to very few buildings on day four. Unlike the second and third days that witnessed over 100 buildings being brought down, only 18 unauthorised structures were razed to the ground on Thursday.
The APIIC Colony faced demolition as a few structures were built on a nala. Compound walls of DBR Mills, Kavadiguda, were razed out too. However no major demolition took place.
GHMC is carrying out the demolition process in a haphazard manner with debris yet to be cleared at several locations.
At Nampally Exhibition centre near Ajanta, only one house was demolished while the rest continued to stand on the nala. The debris, too, was not cleared. GHMC engineering wing officials said the debris would be used for road-laying purpose.
The SCB demolished encroachments from Chandrababu Naidu Nagar to Laxmani Gunti colony, while 12 houses were removed from Rasoolpura Nala.
The SCB will demarcate illegal colonies near CBN Bridge and carry out demolition of the same.
