Now travel from Hoodi to Byappanahalli in 15 minutes
Five DEMU and MEMU services will connect the city with Whitefiled through this station.
Bengaluru: Hoodi railway station which has the distinction of being the first railway station in the country developed under the MP Local Area Development Fund was inaugurated on Thursday. Bengaluru Central MP P.C. Mohan and Mahadevapura MLA Aravind Limbavali were present.
This new railway station is expected to ease Whitefiled’s traffic woes and provide better connectivity to the city and metro travel. According to local residents, this railway station would bring down travel time between Hoodi and Byapanahalli to fifteen minutes.
DEMU and MEMU services: According to SWR officials, the first train between Bengaluru city railway station and Hoodi will start at 7:37 am, while the last train will be at 7.38 pm. The first train from Hoodi to the city will start at 8:14 am and the last train will be at 6.52 pm. Five DEMU and MEMU services will connect the city with Whitefiled through this station.
Metro connectivity: According to locals, with the introduction of this railway station they could now reach Byapanahalli within ten minutes. "The state government is proposing Metro connectivity between Byapanahalli and Whitefiled. But with the inauguration of this new railway station locals will be benefited more than if the Metro were introduced. But the need of the hour is providing stops to all the express trains at Hoodi station," said a local resident.
How will the new railway station benefit locals?
Currently commuting between Hoodi and Byapanahalli takes an hour by road during peak hours. With the introduction of this station, the time taken by train will be only 15 minutes. Time taken for travel by train from Whitefield to Hoodi, is just 8 minutes.
