mla says government has plans to develop Guntur city into a modern city within the next one year.
Guntur: Telugu Desam leaders are receiving complaints about damaged roads and absence of basic amenities in Guntur during the Intintiki programme.
The locals are taking up the construction of new roads, drains, amusement parks, drinking water supply, social security pensions, houses and other issues to the notice of TD leaders.
The TD leaders led by Guntur East constituency incharge M. Giridhar and former MLA S.M. Ziauddin conducted Intintiki TD in Saibaba Colony on Friday. The locals flooded them with complaints about the absence of underground drainage, damaged side drains, absence of roads and mosquito and stray dog menace. The locals stated that Guntur Municipal Corporation is showing an interest in collecting taxes but they have never tried to develop basic amenities. They lamented that the roads of the colony were totally damaged and people are receiving injuries after falling on the roads. They rued the fact that there is no amusement park for the public and sought the development of parks.
Mr Giridhar while admitting the absence of basic amenities said that main roads are being constructed and internal roads would be constructed in the coming days. He said that they are bringing up issues like the absence of under ground drains to the notice of the government.
He said that the Intintiki programme has helped TD know the ground reality and take the issue to the notice of the government seeking a resolve. Mr Giridhar and Mr Ziauddin stated that the TD government will develop Guntur into a modern city within the next one year.
