PD Act invoked against monster teachers
Mr Sajjanar said that those booked under this Act would be detained for a year during which time the trial would be conducted.
Hyderabad: Perhaps for the first time in the state’s history, Cyberabad police commissioner V.C. Sajjanar on Saturday invoked the Preventive Detention Act against two teachers who were booked in different cases of sexual offences.
The two teachers trapped minor girls and sexually assaulted them. This caused “loss of faith and trust among general public and brought shame and humiliation to the entire teaching community,” the commissioner said.
Mr Sajjanar said that those booked under this Act would be detained for a year during which time the trial would be conducted.
The first person, Syed Akbar, 55, was headmaster of the Upper Primary School in Muchintal, Shamshabad. Mr Sajjanar said Akbar helped the minor girl, a former student of his school, with her studies and trapped her.
“He kidnapped and took her to Golconda fort and married her there,” Mr Sajjanar said. “He continued to sexually assault the minor and this offence was reported to the Shamshabad police station. The other teacher, Dappu Santhosh Kumar, 25, from Balanagar worked with the St. Agatha Model High School in Sanathnagar. He gifted a cellphone to a Class X student and gradually trapped her.
“When the parents of victim noticed their conversations on phone, he took her to his relative’s house, confined her for 12 days and sexually assaulted her to fulfill his sexual desires. This offence was reported in Sanathnagar police station,” he said
