The deceased has been identified as Nandini who was strangulated to death a few days back.
Bengaluru: Decomposed body of a 28-year-old woman was found at a house in Chamundeshwari Nagar in Begur in the city.
The deceased has been identified as Nandini who was strangulated to death a few days back. With the deceased's husband Madhu absconding, the police suspect his role in the murder.
The incident came to light on Sunday after the couple's relative alerted police about the foul smell emanating from the house Madhu and Nandini had rented. The police are on the lookout for Madhu.
A native of Belur taluk in Hassan district, Madhu alias Auto Madhu and Nandini had a love marriage 10 years ago and had a sever-year-old daughter and a four-year-old son.
According to police, Madhu, an auto driver, left his pregnant wife home and took their two children to his aunt's place in Hassan on September 22.
Madhu's aunt inquired about him coming all of a sudden with children leaving his pregnant wife home. He, however, did not respond properly and left home saying he would return in the evening. When Madhu did not return, she called up on his mobile phone the next day but his mobile was switched off.
Madhu's aunt then informed his brother Satish about the matter. Satish called up Madhu on his mobile phone but it was switched off. His efforts to establish contact with him went in vain for about four-five days.
On Sunday, Satish spoke to their relatives in Bengaluru to check on Madhu at his house in Begur. When the relative went to his house, he found a foul smell emanating from inside the house. He alerted the police who rushed to the spot, broke open the door to find decomposed body of Nandini who was strangulated to death.
The police have registered a case against Madhu.
