Hyderabad: Greater Hyderabad Zone of the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) has sought commuters’ feedback on new services, which it was planning after the commissioning of Metro Rail.

A survey, which was conducted on October 22 and 23, consisted of 15 questions along with suggestions. A special focus was given on services from residential colonies to Metro stations.

“As the government decided to launch the Metro Rail from Nagole to Miyapur, we had taken up a survey on the same corridor. We got opinion from 20,000 commuters,” said A. Purushotham Naik, the executive director of Greater Zone RTC.

Based on the survey, he said, the RTC is “planning to provide connectivity from residential colonies to the Metro stations at Nagole, Uppal, Mettuguda, Secunderabad, Ameerpet, Kukatpally and Miyapur. We have categorised the commuters into difference class.”

A source in TSRTC said that a majority of commuters insisted RTC to continue its services even after the launch of Metro Rail. “However, most of the commuters of AC and Metro Deluxe preferred to shift to Metro Rail to reduce traffic and to protect the environment,” the source said.
