HYDERABAD: A mentally unstable man was detained by the Falaknuma police for making bomb threat call to Prime Minister’s dinner at Taj Falaknuma on Tuesday. The accused, Yellaiah, 60, was released from Institute of Mental Health, Erragadda, four days ago.
According to the police, Yellaiah had called up the 108 EMRI control room and informed about a bomb placed in Taj Falaknuma. The PM and Advisor to White House Ms Ivanka Trump were about to arrive when the cops received the information. “Immediately our teams searched the premises and found nothing.
We ensured there was no panic,” said DCP (south) V. Satyanarayana. The police later tracked down the caller and detai-ned Yellaiah. Yellaiah was recently detained under the Mental Health Act by the Malkajgiri police.
