Telangana government constitues panel to probe coaching scam after DC report
The teams will inquire separately in respect of 11 organisations.
Hyderabad: The state government has constitued four teams to inquire into the misuse of funds given under the Centre’s ‘Naya Savera’ scheme. The funds were meant for training of students from the minority communities, and were swindled by certain coaching centres. This newspaper had reported on the matter on October 31 (‘Coaching centres swindle money’).
On the instructions of Chief Secretary S.K. Joshi four teams were constituted, one each to be headed by director, minorities welfare, Shahnawaz Qasim, Telangana Minorities Residential Educational Institutions Society secretary B. Shafiullah, Minorities Finance Corporation vice-chairman and MD M.A. Waheed and Centre for Educational Development of Minorities director Prof. S.A. Shukoor.
The teams will inquire separately in respect of 11 organisations: Society for Health Awareness and Rural Enlightment, Seva Bharathi, Gowthama Buddha Educational Society, Jagruthi Educational Society, J. Foundation, Mother Teresa Mahila Mandali, all located in UNI building at AC Guards.
