Bengaluru: Don't sacrifice congress image, sack Naik, says Poojary
He told the media CM Siddaramaiah should remove Mr Naik and induct another legislator from Banjara community.
MANGALURU: The first call from within the ruling Congress for labour minister P.T Parameshwar Naik’s ouster from the ministry for humiliating police officer Anupama Shenoy came former KPCC president B. Janardhan Poojary on Saturday.
He told the media here CM Siddaramaiah should remove Mr Naik and induct another legislator from Banjara community.
“The autocratic attitude of this ministry is annoying everyone in the party. Do not sacrifice the party’s image for the sake of a person. The government should stand up for people and not for an individual,” he said adding “though she was working for the people, transferring her for reasons like not receiving the phone call has annoyed the party.”
He described Anupama Shenoy, who hails from Udupi, as one of the few sincere officers.
Mr Poojary expressed unhappiness over the attitude of leaders who did not visit the house of Sudesh, principal of a college, who allegedly committed suicide after being harassed by the college management.
He, however, appreciated health minister U.T. Khader who met the kin of Mr Sudesh.
