KANNUR: The Thalassery district and sessions court  dismissed the anticipatory bail petition of CPM district secretary P. Jayarajan in the Kathirur Manoj murder case  for the third time on Saturday.

The  CBI is likely to arrest him soon.  Pronouncing the verdict, judge V.G. Anilkumar approved the contention of  CBI public prosecutor K. Krishnakumar that allowing bail to Mr Jayarajan would affect the case as he was the chief conspirator.   The court also pointed out that the non-bailable UAPA section was  charged in the case.

Advocate Mr P. Vishwan said that Mr Jayarajan would file an appeal in the High Court against the verdict. “In the same case, UAPA was charged against another CPM leader T.I.  Madhusoodhanan, but he is out on bail,” he  said.  Mr Jayarajan is the 25th accused in the case.

Meanwhile, it is learnt that the CBI would seek the response from the doctors at AKG hospital, Kannur, where  Mr Jayarajan is on treatment now.

He was  admitted to the hospital citing cardiac disease  over a  week ago.  Earlier,  the CBI had  found that  Mr Jayarajan had attended programmes in Kannur while claiming that he was on treatment.
