Hyderabad: Railways to provide ramps for disabled

Hyderabad: To provide better accessibility to persons with disabilities at railway stations, South Central Railway (SCR) is providing special facilities under an action plan in a phased manner. 

All ‘A-1’ category stations, which include Secunderabad, Hyderabad, Kacheguda, Vijayawada and Tirupati , 31 ‘A’ category stations  and 38 ‘B’ category stations are to get the facilities like standard ramp for barrier-free entry, earmarked parking lots, non-slippery walk-way from the parking to the station, appropriate signages and earmarked toilets.

Other facilities like drinking water taps suitable for use by disabled, ‘May I help you’ booths and trolley path along with wheel chair facility are provided at all important stations.
